    Dear Mr./Madam

    I am communicating with you regarding a very dangerous security breaking down in HSBC Mastercard system.
    I am Dr. Medhat M. KESHTA.
    I am Egyptian/British.
    I have many HSBC accounts in U.K., Egypt and previously in SAAB in Saudi Arabia.
    My Credit cards have been used for illegal transactions and hacked many times during the last month.

    Details:

    (1) on 24/08/2018:

    * I received a message from HSBC that my Master Credit card ended 6753 (issued by HSBC Egypt) has been used for 3 transections, 1st 25000 SR (refused), nd 25000 SR (approved) and 3rd 20000 SR (approved). I received this message while I was in Jeddah (airport).
    * At once; I discovered absence of this card (most probably stolen). I replied by a message to stop these transactions because my card has been lost; but this message failed to send.
    * After 8 minutes I contacted Premier Emergency Hotline on 0019087736437 and had a long chat with the officer. At the end of this chat, the officer advised me to contact the Egyptian HSBC Premier customer service.
    * I called them on 0800 PREMIER and had a long chat with the officer. He cancelled the Master Card, ordered a new one and advised me to visit my HSBC Premier Officer in Egypt ASAP.
    * I visited my Egyptian HSBC Branch on 26/08/2018. The officer reviewed the situation and informed me the transactions have not appeared in the system, and advised me to follow up on my internet banking.
    * On 29/08/2018; the transections appeared on my Internet banking; 25000 SR refused, 25000 SR approved then returned back and 20000 SR transection approved. I filled a dispute form regarding this last transaction and been informed that investigations will start and may take up to 180 days!!!!!!!!!!.

    (2) on 12/09/2018:

    * I received a call from HSBC (Emerat).
    * The officer informed my that my supplementary Mastercard ended 2200 issued from HSBC Egypt (with the name of my son Khalid M Keshta) has been used 6 times for internet transactions (or shopping) from Vietnam. 3 transactions were refused and 3 transactions approved with a total amount of around 60 million Vietnam currency (equivalent to around 50000 EP). The officer asked if I or my son Khalid have made these transactions or not. I asked her to call back after 10 minutes.
    * I called my son Khalid, he denied doing any of these transactions.
    * The officer called me back. I informed her neither me nor my son have made these transactions.
    * The officer stopped 3 supplementary Mastercards (under the names of Khalid M Keshta, Omar M Keshta and Eman Awad and arranged replacement.
    * I asked her why HSBC did not contact me before proceeding with internet transactions before approving it (as what used to be done) and why HSBC did not block this mastercard after 2 refused trials of transactions (as used to be done). She did not have any answers for these 2 critical questions.
    * She advised me to visit Egyptian HSBC branch to fill another dispute form.
    * I visited my Egyptian HSBC branch on 13/08/2018.
    * I informed the Premier officer about the recent story.
    * She reviewed my accounts and confirmed the story. She informed me that the approved transactions were in hold; and advised me to review my internet banking; and if the transactions appeared; I have to fill another dispute form.
    * I gave my requests to stop payment of all these transactions (i.e. 20000 SR, 10 million, 20 million and 30 million Vietnam currency.

    *** I told the officer in the branch and on the phone bank that I refuse to pay any of these transactions or any of intersits of non payments. This is HSBC responsibility especially in both situations, I this I have done the proper actions and I expect HSBC Bank to take the required steps to protect me; but this have not been done.

    *** I think this is a very dangerous situation. I am HSBC Premier customer since 1990s. I have accounts with other banks. I have not faced this security issue before either with HSBC or other banks.

    *** I think it is not accepted at all to pay any of these transactions, waiting for up to 180 days till these moneys come back. It is solely HSBC responsibility.
    *** On 17/09/2018:
    I have received this e-mail from HSBC Egypt:
    Your Reference Number: 130918-104334C9A/R1

    Dear Mr. Medhat,

    Further to our e-mail dated 17/09/2018.

    Please allow me to confirm that said transactions performed by your supplementary credit card from Vietnam were not posted.

    Regarding your request to investigate the transaction processed by your main card with amount SAR 20,000 kindly be informed that we have received a confirmation that the transaction has been performed with your card and PIN, accordingly we are not able to refund it.

    Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

    ** I am sending this complaint to Mastercard Headquarter Office to make full investigations for the whole issue. I believe I have not protected enough and my money has been stolen and neither Mastercard organisation nor HSBC Bank protected me enough.
    I am keeping my rights to take any legal action to face this problem and to keep to protect my accounts.
    Notice: This is the second time I send the complaint to Mastercard office.
